NEW WINDOWS
Saturday, November 4, 2006
-
Today members started installing the new windows at Station 7. The new windows have been needed for some time now, it will be much BETTER sleeping since we won't have the trains vibrating the old windows as they pass. They will also cut down on the heating bill alot. Also, the security cameras have began to be installed at the Station. Thanks to everyone that helped!!!!

The pit beef was a huge success!!  Thanks to everyone that came out and enjoyed a sandwich while they had their car washed.  A thanks also goes out to all of the neighboring companies that came out (Sta. 6, 8, LC PA and Paramedic 1) and to everyone that helped!!  We are going to try to have this every weekend, check back for updates.  The day would not have happened if it was not for Rib-N-It from HDG – THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

BUNK ROOM PROJECT IN THE WORKS
Saturday, July 22, 2006
-
The members are in the process of installing a new shower unit upstairs and have a plan for a Bunk Room area on the second floor of Station 7. The hall upstairs will be split into two areas. The bunk side and the TV / Game room side. The bunk room will hold about 8 beds to hold enough for a Engine and medic crew. Stay tuned for updates.

SATURDAY NIGHT DRILL
Saturday, June 3, 2006
-
On Saturday night around 2000 hrs. the duty crew tried to overcome the boredom of this dry spell we are in by dusting of the cob webs on the equipment.  First the 35' ladder was thrown to the roof (you had to climb to the roof to write down your dinner order), next the Hurst equipment was set up and operated and finally the Paratech Struts were drilled on.  The drill wrapped up around 2230 hrs. and the Engine crew went out to get dinner and of course we were only woke up around 0300 hrs for an ambo run.

With temperatures in the high 70's it was a perfect day for a car wash.  Breakfast was bought by the House Captain and lunch was pit beef and ham from the HDG American Legion.  Thanks to all that helped at the first of many car washes in 2006.
