Around 0400 hours Water Witch VOLUNTEERS and CCDES P1 were alerted for the above. Deputy Chief 73 (G. Miller) arrived shortly after the dispatch advised two vehicles, confirmed the reports of 1 trapped and established the Tome Highway Command. Engine 72 and Engine 7 arrived at the same time from opposite directions. Engine 7’s crew started the stabilization process, set up portable lights and pulled a protection handline. At the same time Engine 72’s crew stabilized the passenger side, pulled their HURST spreaders and cutters and began removing the driver’s door. In order to remove the patient, the door and roof were removed. Extrication was complete 9 minutes after the arrival of the Engines. The patient was turned over to awaiting EMS and VOLUNTEER Medic 791 transported to a local trauma center. Great Job to everyone on the scene!
