When to call 911

 
-When to call 911
-Fire
-Medical Emergencies
-Environmental Emergencies
-To report a crime
 
-Don’t call 911 for situations such as
-Noise complaints
-Barking dogs
-Complaint follow-ups
-Burning permits
-Non-emergency calls
 
-When you call 911 to request emergency help
-Know the location of your emergency, the phone number you’re calling from and what the emergency is.
-Remain Calm, Speak Clearly and answer all the operators’ questions.
-If your house is on Fire, Leave the house first then call 911 from a neighbor’s phone or your cell phone.
-Follow all the instructions given by the call taker
-Don’t hang up until the call taker tells you

Outdoor Cooking Safety & Camping Safety
 
-Never leave food unattended
 
-Don’t place ashes in plastic or combustible bags
 
-Don’t leave campfires unattended
 
-Always have a means of extinguishment
 
-Have a good solid fire ring, made of rocks or concrete blocks
 
-Campfires and grills should be at least 30ft from any buildings
 
-Never take Lanterns or heaters inside your tent
 
-Remove all trip hazards
 
-Always supervise children around camp fires

Firework Safety
 
-Read all instructions before use
 
 
-Children should be supervised at all times
 
 
-Never point fireworks at people or pets
 
 
-Buy and use only legal items for Cecil County Md.
 
 
-Do not use near grassy or wooded areas
 
 
-Dispose of all trash properly and make sure the fireworks are completely extinguished
 
 
-Don't throw burnt sparklers on the ground
 
 
-Never be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while using fireworks
